  • April 4, 2011 - Marjun Olsens has performed Marbella Fantasy in the University of Southern Denmark.

2009

  • December 25, 2009 - St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, Jeffery Meyer (conductor) and Julia Kogan (soprano) has performed Andrey Rubtsov's romance "I Still Keep Mute" on Vladimir Nabokov's early poem. Concert took place in Glinka Hall, Philharmonic.

  • October 2009 - Maxim Rubtsov performed Divertimento in E for flute and piano in five US concerts during September and October. As well there were two master classes in which Flowers of the Sun quartet was performed - once as an experiment with flute choir of 17 students.

  • September 7, 2009 - Andrey conducted ensemble of RAM students, performing his "Ouverture to the Russian National Orchestra" in Spencer house, London to mark the beginning of the evening, hosted by Lord Jacob Rothschild for patrons of the Russian National Orchestra.

  • September 4, 2009 - Andrey conducted festival orchestra of students from RAM, RCM and Guildhall in Ashover (UK). Program included Liadov, Prokofiev and Mendelssohn's Schottish symphony.

  • September 2009 - The Solti Foundation granted Andrey award towards his living costs while studying in Royal Academy of Music, London.

  • March 09: Julia Fischer's "Bach Concertos" CD with Andrey playing in Double concerto is getting rave reviews.

  • February 27, 2009 - Two Pieces for Violin and Piano has been performed in Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia) by Mikhail Simonyan.

  • January 2009 - Decca Classics has released new CD with Bach concertos played by Julia Fischer and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, featuring Andrey Rubtsov in double concerto for Oboe & Violin.

  • December 27 - Two pieces for Violin & piano were performed in Bogolubov's library hall in Moscow by K. Kravzov - violin and Elena Kuznetsova - piano.

  • Jan 17, 2009. Two Pieces for Violin and Piano will be performed at the opening concert of the Russian internet music forum "Classics" Festival (Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory).

2008
  • September 1 - Andrey has started Master of Arts course in Conducting in Royal Academy of Music, London with professor Colin Metters. At the same time he had to leave the Associate soloist position in Russian National Orchestra, Moscow where he had been playing for 8 years.

  • June, 2008 - Andrey has graduated from Operatic and Symphonic conducting Department, Moscow Conservatory with honors.

  • Flute quartet Confour has performed Flowers of Sunrise Jun 6, 2008 in Maria Chapel, Holthees, the Netherlands and Jun 15, 2008 in Dutch Reformed Church, Ravenstein, The Netherlands.

  • April 24 - Andrey has conducted Russian National Orchestra in Vrubelevsky hall, Moscow. Programm has included Beethoven's Pastoral symphony.

  • April 22 - Andrey has been accepted to the conducting department of the Royal Academy of Music (London, Great Britain) for the postgraduate course.

  • April 20 - Andrey has conducted Russian National Orchestra in Enschede, Netherlands. Program has included Pelleas and Melisande - incidental music by Jean Sibelius, his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra (soloist - Alexei Bruni) and Beethoven's Pastoral symphony.

  • January 20 - Gazeta newspaper writes about RNO concert on January 18:
    "Second half of the programm was opened with symphony #63 by Haydn, marked with beautiful solos by oboist Andrey Rubtsov."

  • January 13 (2008) - Flute quartet Confour has perfromed Flowers of Sunrise for the Art Association at Echt, the Netherlands.

  • January - The Carmel Trio (Eyal Ein-Habar - Flute (First chair player, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra), Dudu Carmel - Oboe (First chair player, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra), Stephan Sylvestre - Piano (A prominent Canadian pianist, teacher at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario) will perform Marbella Fantasy on their Canada tour:

2007
  • September 30 (2007), November 14 - Marbella fantasy has received its U.S. premiere when Allegresse performed it as part of a recital Sunday at Grace Episcopal Cathedral (Flutist Annie Gnojek, oboist Margaret Marco and pianist Ellen Bottorff). Later second performance took place at Swarthout Recital Hall, Lawrence, Kansas.

    Performance has been aired. Kansas Public Radio says: "Some of the most beautiful music written for these instruments ever. Shows a complete understanding of the instruments."

  • October 22 - Clarinet ensemble "Quattro Differente" has performed for the first time "Flowers of Sunrise" in the New Theatre of Riga (Latvia).

  • September 10 - Afisha magazine (#17, September 10-23) puts Andrey's profile in "Face" section, talking about his composition career, Internet projects and conducting experience.

  • September 8, 9 - Andrey took part in Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. He has performed Mozart's Quartet F-dur and Britten's Phantasy with Julia Fischer (violin), Robert Poschner (Viola) and Michael Sanderling (Violoncello).

  • August 1 - CNN coverage of Napa Sun Festival, featuring Andrey Rubtsov's inerview is now available online.

  • July 2 - Syrinx flute quartet has performed Andrey's Quartet for three flutes and alto flute in Odessa, Ukraine.

  • May 24 - Vent au Rogue wind quintet has performed Three Moods in University of Redlands, CA.

  • May 19 - Divertimento in E once again has been performed in Moscow by Ensemble of Contemporary Music of Ippolitov-Ivanov's college.

  • April 20 - Andrey has conducted the all-Mozart concert by the Russian National Orchestra in Tretyakov Gallery hall, Moscow.

  • April - Wind quintet of students from Moscow State Conservatory has included Three Moods in several concerts in Central Music School as well as in Moscow Conservatory's chamber hall.

  • February 11 - Andrey took part in Festival de Musique au Chateau de Bourglinster 2007 (Bourglinster, Luxembourg). He performed his own Marbella Fantasy for flute, oboe and piano (with Sabine Raynaud and Francesco T. Schlime) as well as other chamber pieces.

    2006

  • December 17 - Divertimento in E has been performed in concert hall of Central Music School in Moscow by Ensemble of Contemporary Music of Ippolitov-Ivanov's college, conductor - Vyacheslav Valeev.

  • October 16, November 16 - Russian Wind Quintet has performed Three Moods in Russian cities Vologda and Saransk during its concert tours.

  • October 27-29 - As a conductor Andrey has recorded two pieces of contemporary Russian composer Alexandr Lokshin for chamber orchestra: Simfonietta and The Art of Poetry. Soloists: Marina Karpechenko (soprano), Alexei Martynov (tenor).

  • July 22 - Andrey Rubtsov has participated as a conductor at Festival del Sole in Napa Valley, California. Russian National Orchestra has performed under his baton Serenade for string orchestra in E major by Antonin Dvorak.

    Program of the concert in Lincoln Theater also featured Mozart Piano Concerto with Piotr Anderszewski and Vivaldi's The Four Seasons with Sarah Chang.

  • July 22 - Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet has performed Three Moods at Campos do Jordro International Winter Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil - the Latin America's biggest classical music festival. This is the 14th ensemble which has included Three Moods in their repertoire.

    Concert also included Mozart's chamber music for winds, Russian music also was represented by Edison Denisov's quintet.

  • June 22-25 - Andrey participated in festival of chamber music Julia Fischer-festival in Munich, Germany. He performed phantasy quartet for oboe and string trio by Britten and Double concerto for oboe and violin with Julia Fischer.

  • June 12 - Przemyslaw Danowski has played Andrey's Oboe concerto in chamber hall of the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland. Pianist - Adam Kondratowicz.

  • May 30 - "Kultura" ("Culture") newspaper writes about Andrey's Elegy: "Program in Saratov has been opened by the world premiere of Elegy in memory of Pavel Khlebnikov by Andrey Rubtsov - composition marked with poetry and inspiration and reveales appropriate continuity with national classic."

  • April 27 - Premier performance of Elegy in memory of Pavel Khlebnikov took place in Saratov during traditional tour of the Russian National Orchestra. This piece was commissioned by RNO specially for this occasion.

  • March 7 - Premier performance of Program Dances for string sextet took place in New York City. This piece has been commissioned by Russian National Orchestra in honor of Charles Simonyi - famous computer software developer, one of the first developers of "Word" and "Excel".

    Performers - Tatyana Porshneva, Ekaterina Tzareva, Sofia Lebed, Ksenia Juleva, Olesya Gavrikova, Svetlana Vladimirova.

  • March 5 - Burlesca from the Oboe Concerto has been performed in USA for the first time by Richard Woodhams - 1st Oboe with the Philadellphia Orchestra and Philadelphia Classical Symphony (Karl Middleman - Сonductor).

  • February 19 - Two pieces for viola & piano has been performed twice in Mesquite, Texas by Ute Miller, viola and Steven Harlos, piano.

  • Ferbuary 1 - RNO Wind Quintet's 5th Anniversary Concert took place in "Orchestrion" hall with all-Mozart program and famous pianist Aleksei Lubimov as a guest soloist.

  • January 25 - Russian premiere of recently discovered Mozart's arrangement of fragments of opera "The Abduction from the Seraglio" for Harmoniemusik ensemble (wind octet) took place in Orchestrion hall with soloists of Russian National Orchestra.
    On January 30 this concert will be repeated in Moscow Radio House with live broadcast on "Kultura" national radio channel.
  • January 06 - Quarteto de sopros has performed Quartet for three flutes and alto flute twice in Porto (Portugal).

2005

  • December 17 - MP3 recording of "Marbella Fantasy" now available in Composition section.

  • December 13 - "Marbella Fantasy" has been performed in Small Hall of Moscow Conservatory. Performers: Maxim Rubtsov (Flute), Andrey Rubtsov (Oboe), Vyacheslav Gryaznov (Piano).

  • December 2 - "Three Moods" for woodwind quintet and Oboe Concerto were published by TrevCo Music publishing house. Available in online catalog.

  • November 15, 16 - Andrey performs as a soloist with UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra (Bach. Brandenburg Concerto Nr. 2). Maag EventHall, Zurich.

  • November 3-28 - Andrey Rubtsov takes part in UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra international tour (Paris, Rome, Hamburg, Lausanne, Zurich, Bern, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Mexico City) with James Levine & Jiri Belohlavek.

  • November 1 - Andrey Rubtsov went to post-graduate course in oboe studies of Moscow State Concervatory (professor Gennady Kerentzev).

  • October 30 - "Three Moods" were performed at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Bremerton, USA in concert programm "The Russians Are Coming".

  • October 27, 28, 30, 31 - as part of the "Choreographers of the Bolshoi Theatre" project musicians of the Russian National Orchestra presents new chamber ballet "Wind's Kiss" on music of Andrey Rubtsov.

    Soloists - Soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre Anna Antropova, Yan Godovski, Ksenia Abazova, Irina Zibrova. Choreographer - Andrey Melanin.

  • October 18 - Arirang-Quintett from Berlin has performed "Three Moods" in Morocco, Africa. This is the 12 quintet which has included this piece in their repertoire.

  • October 7 - "Two pieces for Viola and Piano" has received its Russian premiere in Roerich Museum. Performers - Paruas Salimov (Viola), Ksenia Bashmet (Piano).

  • September 13, 14 - RNO Wind quintet has performed "Three Moods" in New York.

  • August 26 - In St. John's Church in London RNO Wind Quintet has performed Tchaikovsky's Suite from the Nutcracker, arranged by Andrey Rubtsov for Wind Quintet.

  • August 10 - Mp3 recording of "Andante dolente" for 2 cellos and string orchestra is now available in Composition section.

  • August 12, 14, 15 - Adi Quintet has performed "Three Moods" performed Three Moods in Crescendo Summer Institute and in Zempleni Festival in Sarospatak, Hungary.

  • August 5, 7, July 26 - New performances of "Three Moods" - during American tour RNO Wind Quintet has performed it in Bohemian Grove, Greenwich, CT and Barre, VT.

  • August 2 - At Verbier Musical Festival in Switzerland a new piece of Andrey Rubtsov was performed -"Andante dolente" for 2 cellos and string orchestra. Soloists - Stephan Koncz (Austria) and Maxim Velichkin (Uzbekistan), Conductor - Claudio Vandelli (Switzerland). Chamber orchestra of UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra members.

  • July 30 - Wind quintet "Ciudad de Soria" has performed "Romance" from "Three Moods" in Hinojosa de la Sierra castle near Soria, Spain.

  • July 6 - Ad Libitum Wind Quintet has performed "Three Moods" in the city of Caracas (Venezuela) becoming the 11th quintet to perform it worldwide.

  • Third time Andrey goes to Verbier, Switzerland to take part in UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra which performs with some of the top artists in the world, including Michael Tilson Thomas, James Levine, Valeriy Gergiev, Kurt Mazur and many others. In 2001 he was the first Russian wind player who joined the orchestra.

  • June 18 - At the Russian National Orchestra website Andrey Rubtsov has published his new story about the trip of The Russian National Orchestra Wind Quintet to Osaka.

  • June 16 - Concert of the RNO Wind Quintet took place in the Residence of ambassador of the European Parlament in Russia. Among performed pieces - "Three Moods".

  • May 30 - At the final Oboe exam on graduation from Moscow Conservatory in the Small Hall Andrey Rubtsov performed two movements from his Oboe Concerto. As a result Andrey received the highest grade and a special recommendation for postgraduate course
  • May 23 - The Russian National Orchestra Wind Quintet has won First Prize in the Fifth Osaka International Chamber Music Competition, sponsored by the Japan Chamber Music Foundation. Top honors in the Osaka competition is one of the most sought-after prizes in the chamber music world.

  • May 20 - Russian magazin "Music & Time" wrote an article "At the concert of RNO Wind Quintet".

    About the ensemble: "The sound is rational and inspired, light and solid, transparent and air-filled at the same time - such sound is not easy to find! Tremendous team-work of this quintet of associates amazes and captivates."

    About "Three Moods" for Woodwind quintet: "Contrasts of a composition are vivid and striking, they are quite impressive display of a craftsmanship. Musical language while even being quite democratic in its melodical expression is very intellectual and philosophical."
  • April 21, May 18 - Woodwind quintet has performed "Three moods" in Olsztyn, Poland.

  • April 20 - Maxim Rubtsov (flute), Andrey Rubtsov (oboe) and Francesco Schlime (piano, Luxembourg) has performed "Marbella Fantasy" in Orchestrion hall in Moscow, this is Russian premiere of the piece.
  • March 9 - RNO Woodwind Quintet has performed "Three Moods" at "Orchestrion" concert hall recital.

  • March 6 - RNO Woodwind Quintet has performed "Three Moods" at "Na Prechistenke" concert hall in Moscow.
  • February 25 - RNO Woodwind Quintet has performed "Three Moods" in London (residence of London's Mayor).

  • February 23 - Bellawente Wind Quintet has performed "Three Moods" in San-Francisco.

  • February 16 - "Two pieces for Viola and Piano" has received it's international premiere in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
  • February 5 - Sagar Mazani (Flute) and Sutton Coldfield Orchestra have performed "Divertimento in E" for flute and strings in UK. That's the international premiere of the piece.
    "This was followed by a very modern work, Divertimento for Flute and String Orchestra, composed by Andrey Rubtsov (born 1982) and receiving its British premiere. Sagar Musani was the soloist, playing with great panache and shrugging off the technical challenges posed by the work."

  • "Vogue" magazine writes about Andrey: "A good oboist is the keystone to a concert success. In case of Andrey the orchestra found not only the magnificent oboist but also a great organizer - Andrey is the leader of RNO chamber ensemble." (Vogue Russia, #2 2005, "Ties of the music")
  • January 21 - New recording of "Two pieces for Viola and Piano" added in compositions section.

    2004
  • December 3 - Wind quintet "Ciudad de Soria" has performed "Three Moods" in Soria, Spain in concert in favour of the ONG "Ayuda en Acciуn" (Help in Action) to collect money for the most disadvantaged.
  • Maxim Rubtsov and string quartet of Russian National Orchestra performed "Divertimento in E" for flute and strings in Singapore and Malaysia.
    Also during this tour Andrey has conducted programme of Russian composers with RNO chamber orchestra.
  • November 19 - At the end of flute music evening in the Small hall of Moscow Conservatory Maxim Rubtsov and string quartet of Russian National Orchestra performed "Divertimento in E" for flute and strings.

  • November 16 - Adagio Soave from "Two pieces for Viola and Piano" became #1 in Top scores voted for by visitors on SibeliusMusic - the largest collection of new scores on the Web, containing more than 36.000 compositions.
  • November 14 - premier performance of "Encore!!!" for woodwind quintet took place in China. Performers - MusicUnion wind quintet.

  • October 8 - "Divertimento in E" for flute and strings was performed in Pushkin's Art Museum, Moscow. Soloist - soloist of the Russian National Orchestra Maxim Rubtsov.

  • September 21 - Andrey Rubtsov has made his debut as a conductor. With string section of Russian National Orchestra he performed two piano concertos by J. S. Bach (d moll & f moll) in Samara. Soloist - Mikhail Pletnev.
  • September 26 - Adi's Quintet has performed "Three Moods" in Sofia, Bulgaria.

  • September 26 - Bellavente Wind Quintet has performed Andrey Rubtsov's composition "Three Moods" at "Music on the Hill" festival in San Francisco, CA.

  • During traditional Volga boat tour of Russian National Orchestra "Three Moods" for woodwind quintet was performed in big Volga cities: Cheboksary, Kazan and Nizhni Novgorod.

  • August 20 - Premiere of Andrey Rubtsov's new piece - Fantasy for Flute, Oboe & Piano - took place in Marbella, Spain. Performers: flute - Maxim Rubtsov, oboe - author, p-no - Franchesco Schlime.

  • During American tour of the Russian National Orchestra "Divertimento in E" was performed three times by chamber ensemble of soloists of RNO (Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco; soloist - Maxim Rubtsov, flute).
  • July 27 - first performance of Two pieces for viola and piano took place in chamber concert on Verbier Music Festival, Switzerland (Sofia Lebed - viola, Paruaz Salimov - piano).

  • June 16 - Frivolity from "Three Moods" was included in TV broadcast about RNO Wind Quintet on national TV channel "Culture".

  • Andrey received scolarship from famous "Russian Performing Arts Heritage" foundation.

  • "Divertimento in E" for flute and strings received its Russian premiere on March 31. Soloist - soloist of the Russian National Orchestra Maxim Rubtsov.

  • "Three Moods" was performed in China, Guangzhou by ensemble of soloists of local orchestra.

  • In March 04 Gallimaufry ensemble has performed "Three Moods" in Royal Academy of music, London

  • New performances of "Three Moods" for wind quintet:
    In USA GreatNotes ensemble played it first at Los Angeles Valley College on April 25th, then at Long Beach (California) City College on April 26th.

    Also "Three Moods" was performed by the woodwind quintet of the chamber ensemble class of the Lithuanian Musical Academy in the public concerts on 2004-04-30 in J. Gruodis Conservatoire in Kaunas and on 2004-05-04 in the Lithuanian Musical Academy.
